Peer reviewers Process

All manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Cendekia: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika undergo a rigorous initial screening and peer review process to ensure the highest quality of publication.

1. Initial Editorial Review:
Every submitted manuscript is first reviewed by the Editorial Board. The editors assess whether the submission aligns with the journal’s focus and scope. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s criteria may be rejected at this stage without being sent for external review.

2. Double-Blind Peer Review:
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are then sent to peer reviewers (referred to as Mitra Bebestari) through a double-blind review process, where both the reviewers' and authors' identities are kept anonymous to ensure objectivity.

3. Reviewer Evaluation:
Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two reviewers on both substantial (e.g., originality, significance, clarity of research question, literature review, methodology, findings) and technical (e.g., grammar, formatting, references, structure) aspects.

Our Mitra Bebestari are experts in the field of education, particularly mathematics education. They have substantial experience in academic publishing, including work with prestigious national and international journals.

4. Author Revisions:
Based on reviewer feedback, the manuscript may be returned to the author(s) for revisions. Authors are expected to revise and resubmit their work within a specified timeframe.

5. Editorial Decision:
After revisions are received, the editorial team makes the final decision regarding the manuscript, choosing from the following outcomes:

  • Accepted

  • Minor Revision

  • Major Revision

  • Rejected

The editorial team reserves the right to decide which manuscripts will be published.

Timeline:
The review process, from initial submission to editorial decision, is designed to be completed within a maximum of one month, although times may vary depending on the responsiveness of authors and reviewers.
